Dog care & nutrition
The Cane Corso should do well on a high-quality dog food, whether commercially manufactured or home-prepared with your veterinarian's supervision and approval. Any diet should be appropriate to the dog's age (puppy, adult, or senior). Some dogs are prone to getting overweight, so watch your dog's calorie consumption and weight level. Treats can be an important aid in training, but giving too many can cause obesity. Learn about which human foods are safe for dogs, and which are not. Check with your vet if you have any concerns about your dog's weight or diet. Clean, fresh water should be available at all times.
Dog health problems
All dogs have the potential to develop genetic health problems, just as all people have the potential to inherit disease. Run from any breeder who does not offer a health guarantee on puppies, who tells you that the breed has no known problems, or isolates puppies from the main part of the household for health reasons. A reputable breeder will be honest and open about health problems in the breed and the regularity with which they occur in her lines. Some of the health conditions that have been seen in the Cane Corso are hip dysplasia, eye problems such as entropion or ectropion, demodectic mange, and a tendency toward gastric torsion
Our program
Raising puppies and our responsibility to place them in their forever homes are tasks we treat with the utmost sincerity. The costs of running a good breeding program are
too high to be fully covered by the amount of money earned from selling puppies. Having passion is a must for breeding a large dog, or any dog, and should only be done to
preserve the breed you are passionate about.
Our Guarantee and a Written Contract are a must for all puppies sold from our facility. Puppies that are sold as companions are sterilized as part of the sale agreement. Companion puppies from Iron Horse Cane Corso are not low-quality bred; these animals are dogs that will be spayed or neutered and not used for breeding or competitive shows. They are often of attractive and desirable quality and are guaranteed to be in good health, with sound hips and temperament.
Investing With Iron Horse Cane Corso
We strive to breed quality Cane Corso puppies to the standards listed above that are still affordable to families.
We focus on health and temperament with each breeding and every puppy is sold on a contract. The purchase of a new puppy should be looked at as an investment
for your home. A good investment comes with a guarantee and focuses on long term quality.
